Scouts prepare young people with skills for life.

We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we give over 460,000 young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.

East Grinstead has been providing Scouting activities for the young people in and around the East Grinstead area over 100 years, and have a very popular and diverse scouting community. We presently have nearly 800 young members and 170 adult leaders and assistants who volunteer to help deliver a comprehensive program of activities.

How do I summarise the last year of scouting – I think “Change” sums it up well, but the principles of what we deliver to young people within Scouting is still valid and the level of Scouting experienced at all levels, with our district, makes a difference to many lives – as adults instrumental involved in this I thank you.

Some of my highlights over the last year have come from the interaction with the young people, like the Beavers and Cubs leaving the All Sections Day at West Sussex 2017 event – you will recall that it was a Wet Day! Yet they were leaving with big smiles and great life changing experiences after a Day at WS, where despite the weather the leaders had provided all that was promised – that’s Scouting.
