60 Beavers celebrated the 25th Aniversary of Beaver Scouting at Blacklands Farm on the 10th September.
To mark the occasion, the youngest members of the district along with Beaver Leaders from the last 25 years, and the town Mayor helped plant 25 trees at the campsite.
Around 100 Beavers took part in this year’s Christingle Celebration this weekend.
The Beavers enjoyed making Christmas cards before an explanation from Father Paul Seaman on the significance of Christingle, before making their own and singing Away in a Manger. Finally, they were treated to Davey Gravey’s magic show.

Its ‘end of term’ and Beavers from West Hoathly, and Horsted Keynes celebrated by holding a BBQ and a water fight. Also included are a few pictures from the East Grinstead Town Trail.

In the leader/explorer class, Griffyn Explorers, walked away with the cuddly toy. Congratulations to all who took part!.

Beavers from West Hoathly set out on the Guiding Centenary Nature Trail at East Court.
The trail has a number of brass rubbings that the beavers enjoying takin on thier way round.
Sunday 18th April, saw the streets of East Grinstead fall silent as traffic was held up at several road junctions around the town. The silence was broken by the sounds of the drums of the marching band as the parade marched up the high street watched by local residents and high street businesses.
One onlooker commented how pleased they were that Scouts still celebrated our Patron Saints day, reminding him of his younger days as a Scout many years ago.
County Commissioner John Spickett was also on hand to present Ron Trumpeter with his Silver Acorn award for his many years of work for the Scouts.
This was the first time is several years that the Saints Day celebration has included a parade, so well done to all of our young people who turned up looking very smart.
We would like to welcome our two new Scout Groups to the District!
From 1st April, 1st Ardingly Scout Group, and the 1st Horstead Keynes and Danehill Scout Groups now join East Grinstead District. We hope you will feel welcome, and look forward to meeting the leaders and members over the coming months at all the activities we have planned.

Saturday 27th March saw the return of the 2010 ‘Beaver Fun Base Afternoon’ held at Imberhorn Lower School.
Beavers from East Grinstead, Forest Row, Copthorne and Turners Hill & Crawley Down took part in the event, but the Trophy didn’t have far to travel staying with the 1st East Grinstead Scout Group, this year in the possession of Winnipeg Colony.
Well done to all of those who took part, and thanks to all the leaders and support which enables these events to happen!
